Born in London and brought up in Hertfordshire, Jenny moved to the Midlands in 1990 to study Music at the University of Birmingham. She took flute lessons at Birmingham Conservatoire with CBSO flautist Colin Lilley. Jenny teaches the flute at Warwick School and King’s, Worcester. She was a member of Sinfonia of Birmingham for 22 years and enjoys chamber music performances with Syska Flutes. A serious cycling accident in 2013 resulted in a significant setback to Jenny’s musical life and almost put an end to her playing and teaching career. However, following 2 years of intense dental and facial surgery, and many hours of frustrated practice, relearning the flute with a completely different embouchure, she is delighted to have regained most of what she lost. Jenny has thoroughly enjoyed her first year playing with WSO, the performance of Shostakovich’s ‘Leningrad’ Symphony being a highlight of her orchestral years.
